Aspergillus oryzae NK is a strain of microorganism which has been used by Japanese brewers of sake and soy sauce from the ancient past. Wakakamoto Pharmaceutical uses the strain to produce digestive enzymes exclusively developed by the company. When the microorganism is cultured on rice or wheat germ, the nutrients in the grain germ are utilised to produce various digestive enzymes. These enzymes aid the stomach in digestion.
For constipation, the lactic acid produced by lactobacilli stimulates the intestinal walls, promoting peristaltic movement of the intestinal tract to regulate bowel movement. Also, the dietary fibre contained in the grain germ and yeast absorb the moisture in the intestine to increase stool volume, aiding in passing the stool. For the loose stools, the imbalance of intestinal flora caused by the proliferation of “bad” bacteria is corrected and normalised by lactobacilli, which are “good” bacteria. This helps to improve loose stools.
The yeast contained in “Strong Wakamoto” and “Granule Wakamoto” is brewer’s yeast, used for fermenting beer. It is dried after being separated from the fermented beer. This yeast contains amino acids (16 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids which cannot be produced in the body), minerals （7 minerals including iron, calcium, and magnesium), and vitamins (9 vitamins including vitamin B1). These supplement the body with nutrients.
